IAS Eligibility Criteria 2017- In order to apply for the IAS Prelims Exam 2017, aspirants have to fulfil some eligibility requirement as specified in the official notification. The official notification of UPSC Civil Services Exam 2017 will be issued on 22 February 2017. UPSC IAS Prelims 2017 exam is scheduled to be commenced on 18 June 2016. Only eligible candidates are allowed to apply for the preliminary examination. Hence, we have collected all the IAS Eligibility Criteria here for the ease of the candidates. (1) For the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India.
(2) For other services, a candidate must be either:—
The age of the applicant must be between 21 years to 23 Years as on 01 August 2017 i.e. a candidate must have been born after than 2 August 1985 and before than 1 August 1996.

Note- Only Matriculation certificate or equivalent will be accepted as the proof of age.
The candidate must possess a graduation degree of any of the recognised University or possess an equivalent qualification. Candidates appearing in the last year are also eligible to appear in the examination provided that they will hold a graduation degree before the main examination.
All the candidates who will be declared qualified by the Commission for appearing in the Civil Services (Main) Examination will be required to produce proof of passing the requisite exam while applying for the Main Exam. The applications for the Main Exam will be commenced in the month of October/ November, 2016.
