IES 2018– Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification of Engineering Services Examination 2018, also known as IES or ESE Exam, on 27 September 2017. The IES Preliminary/Stage‐I Examination will be held on 7 January, 2018 for recruitment to various services/ posts. The tentative number of posts is 588 including 18 PH (LDCP‐15 & HI‐03) vacancies. The online registration for the same is also started. Eligible candidates can apply for the examination till 23 October 2017. Only eligible candidates can fill the application forms, hence, check the IES Eligibility Criteria carefully before applying for the exam. A candidate must be either:
Age Limit- A candidate must have attained the age between 21 years to 30 years on the 1 January 2018 i.e. He/she must have been born not earlier than 2 January 1988 and not later than 1 January 1997.
Educational Qualification- To apply for UPSC IES 2018 Exam, a candidate must have obtained an Engineering degree from a recognised University or other Educational Institution.
Aspirants who satisfy all the eligibility criteria can apply for the Engineering Services Examination 2018 will be able to fill the application form from 27 September 2017. The application forms for UPSC IES 2017 Examination will be issued on the official website of the Commission. Candidates have to complete the online IES application form in 02 Parts, Part-1 & Part-2. Candidates should also remit a prescribed application fee in response to complete the application form.

Only those Candidates qualifying at this Stage (i.e. Stage-I + Stage-II) to be permitted to appear for Stage-III examination
Cut off marks are the minimum marks that a candidate has to score in the ESE 2018 Examination to get selected for the next level i.e. Main/ Interview. The cut off marks will be announced after the declaration of the final result. Knowing the cut off will also help the aspirants to prepare for the Engineering Services Examination.
The admit card of IES Exam 2018 will be issued online 03 weeks prior to the conduction of examination. Hence, it is estimated that the admit card will be released in the 2nd week of December 2017. Candidates need to enter their registration number and the date of birth to download the same. Candidates are recommended to download the same from official website as no hard copy will be sent to the postal address of the candidates. It is a mandatory document that need to be used for verifying the candidature during the examination.
The preliminary ESE 2018 exam will be announced in the month of March 2018. A result pdf will be uploaded on the official website of UPSC. Candidates who qualify the prelims examination will be called for the Main examination which will be held on 01 July 2018. The final result of IES 2018 will be declared in September 2018 on the main website of UPSC.
